Well, it’s been all change at Tidy Towers (or rather Tidy Towers has relocated three times) over the last year and half, and I’m kind of ashamed to discover that I only managed four recipes in 2016!

Now that I’m settled, let’s put that to rights with this proper winter warmer! It’s a true Ifits – I wanted to knock together something that was healthy, tasty, warming, and filling, so had a look in the cupboards and rustled up this beauty.

Bacon, Squash & Sweet Potato Stew

It was my birthday last week, and suffice to say I over-indulged. For a whole week. I’ve been very proud of my weight-loss success since joining Fat Club between Christmas & New Year, but in the space of this week, I put on half a stone! Oops!

As we’re getting closer to Summer Holiday time, here’s one to kick-start the beach body regimes! It’s very very slightly adapted from a Slimming World recipe.

Caribbean Pepperpot Stew

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably feeling the effects of the Seasonal over-indulgence! I’ve mentioned a few times that one of the risks of running a food blog is that the pounds pile on! Having injured my foot in the Cardiff 10k back in September, I really haven’t been exercising as much as I should, and I’ve also been eating whatever the heck I like! Generally, for me, that involves far too much of everything, and none of it very healthy! With the added decadence of Christmas thrown into the mix, I’ve put on about half a stone in three months… eek!

So, rather than waiting for the new year to start, I signed up for Fat Club (otherwise known as Slimming World) on Monday. I thought this recipe of theirs looked great, so I’ve decided to share it with you today, as a healthy option to kick-start your resolutions!

Don’t worry, I’ll still be having cheat days, so not every post for the next few months is going to be a fat club recipe! Although if they taste as good as this, you’d never know the difference anyway!

I’ve only modified this recipe very very slightly, but I have suggested some other tweaks (as ever)!

Nell’s Tagine of Moroccan Lamb with Apricots

Time for another guest spot, and so the return of Nell!

Since her last guest spot, Nell’s been back in the kitchen trying out many of the TidyMunch recipes. When her birthday (I won’t say which one) came around in August, it felt fitting that I engineer another TidyMunch guest spot empower Nell to further her culinary crusade.

I bought her a tagine, some spices, and a cookbook. Living up to her title as The Original Modifier, she soon tweaked some of the recipes to come up with her own. So, over to Nell!
